Offering Seva To The Avatar
Hinduism is an Avatar worshipping tradition.
- We believe in the worship of the Avatar when they are in the form and after they have left the physical form as well.
- The Avatars’ form becomes a deity a cosmic energy capsule, and is worshipped for 1000s of years to come.
- Lord Venakteshwara’s form is worshipped in Tirupati. Meenakshi Devi’s form is present in the Garbha Mandhir (Sanctum Sanctorum) of the Madurai Meenakshi Temple, Arunagiri Yogeshwara’s (an incarnation of Sadashiva) form is the cosmic energy capsule in the Arunachaleshwara temple in Tiruvannamalai.
- They were worshipped when they were alive. After they have left their physical form, their bodies are neither cremated nor buried. Instead they are consecrated into a ” jeeva samadhi”, a traditional construction which is worshipped and celebrated as these Avatars continue to radiate enlightenment. ,

Suprabhata Seva
This seva is the morning awakening for The Avatar as He emerges from a deep samadhi (meditative space of Oneness with the whole Universe) and graces all of humanity once again.
Thomala Seva
Thomala seva is the seva performed directly adorning His Divine Holiness with a garland.
Thirumanjana Seva (Abhishekam)
This is the sacred bath offered to His Divine Holiness. We offer a royal bath with different substances like milk, yogurt, honey, sandalwood and turmeric which according Agamas are the most divine substances which one can offer to the Divine.
Vastra Alankara Seva
After the sacred Abhishekam (sacred bath) is done for the Divine, the “vastram” or dress is always offered to adorn the deity. In this offering, you will be offering the beautiful alankaram (or dress) which He wears.
Abharana Seva
In Hindu tradition, jewels with the most precious stones made of the most precious metals should be offered to adorn the deities. This is the offering of traditional jewelry and ornaments for His Divine Holiness.
Ashtotaranamavali Archana
Archana or Ashtotaranamavali Archana (108 Name Recital) is performed to His Divine Holiness with utter awe and devotion of His ultimate grace and compassion.
Pratyaksha Pada Puja
This is the offering of puja to the feet of His Divine Holiness.
Ekanta Seva
This offering is the seva is the nightly ritual before the Divine takes rest.
Vahanotsavam or Rathotsavam
This seva is the offering of the traditional chariot, or vehicle for Swamiji’s grand processions.
Sahasra Dipalankarana Seva

Maheshwara Puja
Offering of Maheshwara Puja is one of the oldest recorded ritual in the Vedic tradition This is the offering of food to His Divine Holiness along with His monastic disciples. Offering food to the HDH is equal to feeding ten thousand hungry people. This is offered liberate the departed soul and let them rest in peace, gifting Enlightenment to their souls.
